TCLL Board Meeting
December 15, 2007

1. Meeting was called to order by Steve Cousins at 7:35PM.

2. In attendance were Jeff Oliver, Max Dunn, Ted Roberts, Steve Cousins, Diedre Lum, Perry Farnum, Joe Mardesich, Barun Mukherjee, Matt Waite, Tom Lopes.

3. Reviewed minutes from previous meeting

MOTION to approve previous meeting minutes passed unanimously.

4. Action Items

Reviewed open action items. Breakaway bases are in progress.

5. Presidents Report
Registration is open, board meetings schedule, signed up for Positive Coaching alliance (PCA)

PCA: Early January for Board, another right after tryouts for managers and coaches, third one after the teams have formed up. Everyone who is an adult in this league dealing with kids should have the opportunity to go to one.

6. Treasurer's Report

Transitioned bank account to BofA. The Citibank has a difference of about $1000 probably due to a lot of small checks that haven't been cashed. After 6 months old checks will be voided, but if they are presented they will be re-entered and honored. Taxes are still being worked on.

MOTION to approve treasurers report was passed unanimously.

7. Safety Report

Perry discussed his plans for the safety manual. There was a discussion about how to enforce the safety rules. There was a discussion on whether everything had to go into the safety manual or whether it could refer to web pages, for instance the pitching rules. Discussed how big the scope of the safety manual should be. The most important thing is to assign a safety office on each team.

8. Registration report

So far 30 players have their information verified and about 20 have paid.

9. Fundraising report

Most sponsors of last year will sponsor again this year.

10. Goals for 2008

  • 200 players

  • Balanced budget

  • Coach training/PCA

11. New Business

Looking for suggestions for managers at all levels. Jeff said AYSO makes parents sign up for a volunteer job when they signup their kids or charge them more.

- Put up league safety report on web
- Setup Manager's email list
- Setup page for suggestions for next year and send link to all board members
- Get WEP key for Hyde

Jeff:
- Put up flyers

Steve:
- Talk to Max about process for sending out confirmations to signups
- Wording about length of season
- Dates for PCA
- Send note to Anthony about last years All-Star uniforms
- Put together manager's information packet

Perry:
- Send link to Max for league safety report
- Feb 1 give first-aid kits to Tom to put in bags
- Will review board position description on web and see if there should be additional responsibilities added
- Distribute to managers safety ground rules

Tom:
- Feb 1st have bags ready

Diedre:
- Distribute uniforms by the end of April
